The association is not a discount club. Dues fund scholarships, recognition, and the advocacy work that puts Kentucky's enlisted force in front of Congress.

Every dues-paying and life member under age 80 is covered by a complimentary $2,500 Accidental Death and Dismemberment policy through the NGAUS Insurance Trust. No enrollment. No premium.
It is not life insurance
AD&D pays for accidental death or dismemberment. It does not pay for death from illness or natural causes. The distinction matters to a family making a claim.
Dues must be current
No claim is paid until headquarters verifies the member's dues were current at the time. A lapsed membership is a lapsed benefit.
Two states excluded
The coverage is not available to New Hampshire or New Mexico residents, per those states' insurance departments.
How a claim is made
Claims go through NGAUS or EANGUS headquarters, not through EANGKY. If a member dies, notify both so the benefit is not overlooked. Coverage and claim details

$1,500 awarded each year
Members, spouses, and children of members are eligible, including children and spouses of retired and deceased members. Two awards: the $1,000 USAA Scholarship and the $500 SGM Virgil S. Van Arsdale Scholarship, named for a Kentuckian listed among the founders of the national association on the EANGUS founders scroll. Applications close 1 July.
CSM and SGM retirement recognition
When a Kentucky Command Sergeant Major or Sergeant Major retires, the association marks it with something permanent. The program is coordinated through the State Command Sergeant Major and funded by contributions from serving senior enlisted leaders.

Emergency Financial Relief
Three funds serve Kentucky Guardsmen in a financial emergency. The state MFAST grant, the Kentucky Minuteman Relief Fund, and the National Guard Relief Foundation. Separate applications, and you can apply to more than one. Where to start
Firearms Legal Protection
Attorney fees, bail bond protection, and a 24-hour hotline for members who use a firearm or other legal weapon in self-defense or the defense of others. Sign-ups through EANGKY return proceeds to the association. Program details
The Auxiliary
Membership is broader than most people assume. Spouses of members, married couples who are both EANGUS members, and anyone who wants to support the work as an associate member. Who can join
The benefit that is not a benefit
A vote,
and a way to use it.
Every member in good standing votes on resolutions and elects the officers of the association. Proxy voting is not permitted, so the vote belongs to whoever is in the room.
Kentucky seats one delegate for every 200 paid enlisted members, so every renewal adds weight to the state's vote at the national conference. Any member can submit a resolution, and adopted resolutions become part of the EANGUS legislative agenda.
