VA Town Hall Meeting – Jefferson, LA

Aug 27, 2014 | Legislative, National, State

In line with Secretary McDonald’s directive, the New Orleans VA Regional Office will host a town hall for Veterans, Service members, their families and survivors, to discuss non-medical VA benefits. Community members and organizations that assist Veterans with their benefits, as well as the general public are also invited to attend. This town hall will be Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the American Legion Post 267, 3001 River Road, Jefferson, LA 70121, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

To improve communications with Veterans nationwide, town halls like this one will be conducted at all VA regional offices. These town halls will serve as a forum for beneficiaries to ask questions and raise concerns. Through listening to those we serve, we can identify the areas that are of concern and the areas in which we are succeeding.

We welcome our community partners, stakeholders, representatives from Congress, Veterans Service Organizations, and state and local governmental and non-governmental organizations to participate in these town halls.

We invite you and your staff to attend this town hall and provide input and feedback as we continue to work to improve the delivery of benefits and services and rebuild the trust of the Veterans who directly use our benefits.

As we’ve discussed we will have some employees on hand to help enroll veterans in eBenefits and to answer specific claims-related questions.  However, the focus of the meeting will be to present information, and more importantly, to listen to the veteran community about ways VA can improve service delivery.

Thanks for your support.
